So who or what is responsible for Boris’ victory? An ill-informed public, a TV show and a Tory rag. Have I Got News For You, a show meant to satirise and mock politicians, provided Boris an ample opportunity to expand his fanbase to previously inaccessible quarters and sell an image of a “lovable rogue”, while The Evening Standard has run a near-daily hatchet job on Ken Livingstone for the past 6 months.

How to describe Girl Talk? He’s like Negativland’s hipper younger brother or Soulwax with ADHD. His performance was like a night out at a shit pop club compressed into 40 minutes of awesome.

I had high expectations for the gig and thankfully they didn’t disappoint despite the fact that most of the set focused on tracks from the recent War Stories album
