New BBC3 comedy - Clone
…Clone was fairly sedate and seemed a perfect fit for the Friday night 8:30 BBC slot. It’s not bust-a-gut hilarious and certainly doesn’t break any new ground but as a sitcom it is better than My Family and My Hero.

Xavier: Renegade Angel
…the one advantage Xavier has over all comedies I’ve seen recently is that it’s got gags - well-written gags, throwaway gags but most of all, funny gags in fucking spades.
Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle
…fingers crossed this makes it to production. I’d like to see what sketches he’s been working on and hopefully more new stand-up material.
Bill Bailey at the Riverside Studios
I’m hoping he carries on working on this set as there was material repeated from much older performances and I’m not sure if it was the delivery or the material, but it lacked the polish I’ve come to expect from Mr Bailey.

The main problem was his set hinged on an anecdote which relied on forced repetition instead of humour and with this type of gag it’s all too easy to end up being irritating instead of amusing.
