Twitter digest for 2009-06-30
Updates from my Twitter account on Tuesday 30th June 2009
- Has there been an accident or new roadworks in Hackney? Traffic has slowed to a crawl. #
- Argh. Terrible commute. Held up by buses and then it stank like someone had shat themselves on the Silverlink. Not just in Dalston either. #
- Amazing photos from Glasto. Bring on Glade! RT @LDN: The Big Picture does Glastonbury…wow http://bit.ly/vyneL #
- Might have something worth blogging about to break my lazy radio silence #
- Anyone know of a PHP library to create those web page previews (like on delicious)? Can’t find a search query that returns useful results. #
- Re: last tweet. Managed to find a decent site that lists services – if you’re interested it’s http://tr.im/qhxy #
- @sampicli Not clicking a 4chan link at work, dude ;) in reply to sampicli #
- Brilliant, I’ve just had my work e-mail set up so that I’m mudkips@workemail.com :D (note, not proper domain) #
- Dear “Internet marketers” – I may work at an ad agency, I might love the Internet, but I’m not going to follow you or spread your scams. #
- @Mankauf Just a general reaction to the “net marketing experts” who run some shitty blog, whose every tweet includes a link to 1 of 3 posts in reply to Mankauf #
- Oh I’m having a rage day. FFS. #
- @bloggerheads Oh that’s a very, very smart ad. in reply to bloggerheads #
- I’d like a new MacBook Pro please #moonfruit #
- Explanation of why #moonfruit might be appearing in my tweets for the next 10 days http://bit.ly/96bxC #
- Is my whoring out of #moonfruit hypocritical in light of my tweet about Internet marketers earlier? Maybe but my housemate works for them ;) #
- @no_other_alias My ONLY housemate @baseonmars works for #moonfruit. I’m not at the old place with JD, Targ, Knifton etc. remember? ;) in reply to no_other_alias #
- #moonfruit still on trends in Tweetdeck. “Rick Astley dead” is though. #
- #moonfruit still not on trends in Tweetdeck. “Rick Astley dead” is though. #
- Torn between the eternal argument of “ease of coding” and “best practice” #
- @awais Currently ~2 tweets of #moonfruit every minute, every day each tweet has a one in ~3000 chance of winning, assuming no change in rate in reply to awais #
- @awais You seem to be touring a lot at the moment, what’s the score? in reply to awais #
- @miss_glitch No, as @awais says, we don’t want #moonfruit to trend if we want to have a chance of winning! ;) in reply to miss_glitch #
- @syn I’ve already been told I’m not allowed to write a bot that retweets every instance of #moonfruit to give me a 50% chance of winning ;) in reply to syn #
- #moonfruit getting traction, nearly up to 10 tweets a minute :v #
- @syn Wouldn’t it be 0.5 ^ 10, so in total the probability of winning would only be 0.009765625%? My maths is wonky though. Oh and #moonfruit in reply to syn #
- @spiderylue Why are you at Hackney Downs? That’s near me! And it makes me giggle every time I walk through/see the “Downs Community Centre” in reply to spiderylue #
- @syn Wait, my maths IS wonky. Total probability of winning the #moonfruit competition would be 0.09765625%, although still ~50% per day. in reply to syn #
- @syn You’re forgetting that the science is only if someone cheats – and I think #moonfruit will clock onto that ;) in reply to syn #
- @syn Well, using the idea you put forward, the probability of winning at least one #moonfruit Mac would be 99.9023438%. Maybe. in reply to syn #
- I think I really need to restudy probability #
- @syn The original percentage I came up with was the chance of winning EVERY #moonfruit Mac. Is this getting annoying yet? ;) in reply to syn #
- #moonfruit has finally made the trends on TwitScoop. Curses! #
- @mz_pink Ha! Another ex-BBS/scanlinez person :) #
- #moonfruit has overtaken #squarespace as a trend. Mission accomplished, @baseonmars? #
- Don’t search for #moonfruit on Google Image Search with Safe Search off, as the first two results are NSFW – and on moonfruit subdomains! #
- @no_other_alias Having not worked at #moonfruit, I did not know that! in reply to no_other_alias #
- @no_other_alias That means #moonfruit probably owe you at least one Macbook Pro then. I want one more though. in reply to no_other_alias #
- Oh bollocks, ActionScript 3 doesn’t like loading via redirects. Going to have to spoof MIME types or set up a “2 tiered” loading method. #
- Ok, that’s a lie. The Flash IDE caches things even when trying to use a cachebuster. SWFs in a browser can use PHP header redirects fine. #
- One last #moonfruit before I leave the office. #
- @thefunkhouse If you do AS2 “the right way” then it’s really no that difficult migrating. If you embed stuff on the timeline, be wary! ;) in reply to thefunkhouse #
- @spiderylue Eh? If all #moonfruit tweets were retweeted, it’d give the account holder a 50% chance of winning per day, surely? in reply to spiderylue #
- Playing with Away3D again #
- @spiderylue If an account is protected, I’m not sure they can enter – #moonfruit aren’t using any tools unavailable to average users in reply to spiderylue #
- @spiderylue The winner is picked each day by listing all #moonfruit tweets from the past 24 hours and picking one at random in reply to spiderylue #
- @spiderylue One person can post loads and up their chances but a bot posting ALL of them again would give that bot a chance of 50% in reply to spiderylue #
- @spiderylue If 50% ^ 10 = 0.09765625% (being WIN ALL or LOSE ALL) then isn’t the chance of win at least one 100 – 0.1953125 = 99.8046875%? in reply to spiderylue #
- @spiderylue As I said, my probability is really rusty, so I’m probably really, really wrong ;) in reply to spiderylue #

@Neris_k The only people that will go to that are people who haven't seen the finale in reply to Neris_k 2 days ago
